Lampang Food Products Co., Ltd. was established on February 8, 1990 under the vision of a group of investors who realized the potential to develop fruits and vegetables processing industry in the northern region of Thailand. The region has long been known for her fertile land and temperate climate most suitable for agricultural plantations. Being geographically located in the center of the northern region and possessing abundant pool of efficient workforces, Lampang province has been developed not only into the industrial center but also into the land transportation hub of the region. With these attributes in mind, the company set itself on a mission to process canned fruits and vegetables for export and pickled fruits and vegetables for domestic market.
In the age of globalization, with intense competition from companies not only within Thailand but also from other developing countries like China and Vietnam, Lampang Food Products continuously strive to build our competitive advantages in both production and marketing. For export markets, due to the popularity of Thai foods around the world, we have been developing value added products such as canned curries, curry pastes, stir fry and dipping sauces, under our "Maejin" brand as well as customers’ own brands. For domestic market, "Maejin" is the leading brand for pickled vegetables packed in glass jars and plastic (PET) bottles.
As a result of the signing of free trade agreements among the ASEAN member countries and China, supported by the fact that Thailand’s Northern region is located in the geographical center of China, Myanmar, and Laos, the company seize this opportunity to embark on a cost cutting programs by importing cheaper raw materials and relocating production facilities to these neighboring countries. To fill up the production capacity left vacant by the relocations, the sweet corn production line was established in 2003. Our sweet corn products have been very well received by the customers with sales volume rising from 100 containers (20ft) in 2003 to 500 containers in 2005, and expecting to reach 800 containers in 2006.
Lampang Food Products Co., Ltd. always emphasize on quality and safety standard of our products as the first priorities. We have been certified under all the important quality systems such as ISO 9000, HACCP, GMP, EFSIS, and IFS. Efforts are also being made to ensure the quality of raw materials using GAP and traceability programs. In addition to quality and safety standard, we strive to create customers’ satisfaction by controlling the costs and prices for our trading partners in order to support them in maintaining their competitive advantages in the marketplace. We also employ highly qualified food technologists and investing in new packaging technology to constantly improve the tastes and nutritious values of our products for the benefits of the end consumers.
