Chinese
bitter gourd soup with pickled mustard |

Ingredients
- 3 can (420 g.) “Maejin” pickled
mustard
- 1 young Chinese bitter ground, cut in pieces
- 500 g. spareribs
- 300 g. streaky pork
- 10 g. bird chilli
- 15 g. garlic
- 4 cups stock
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce |
Instructions
1. Boil water and then parboil the spareribs and streaky
pork for a moment. Pour the water out and let the pork
drain.
2. Heat the stock until it boil and lower the heat. Add
the spareribs and simmer it for 30 minutes.
3. Add the streaky pork, Chinese bitter ground, and “Maejin”
pickled mustard. Simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Add bird chilli and garlic and then simmer the soup
for 5 minutes. Season the soup with fish sauce before
serve. |
